Welcome to the tenth Pactoria dev blog. Grimoires are here, magic books you can pick up from spawn, and our first real step into magic on Pactoria.
What they are
Grimoires are quality of life items, built to solve the small day to day headaches players keep running into:
- One removes any enchant of your choice from an item, so you're never stuck with an enchant you didn't want.
- Another smelts anything you mine on the spot, saving you the trip back to a furnace.
- One clears the floating leaves left behind after you cut down a tree.
There are several more beyond those, each built to make your day a little easier.
Keep in mind
They aren't unlimited. Every grimoire comes with a set number of uses, and some are single use, such as the enchant removal one. If you plan on using them often, you'll be heading back to the spawn merchant for a steady supply.
The bigger picture
This is only the beginning of magic on Pactoria. Grimoires are the first taste, and we have plans to expand on it a lot further down the line.
