Welcome to the twelfth Pactoria dev blog. Not every feature needs a blog of its own, so here's a batch of quality of life additions bundled into one.
What's new
Gates
Exactly what it sounds like. Build a gate and open or close it by clicking a sign, complete with a smooth animation.
Upgradable furnaces
Furnaces, smokers and blast furnaces can now be upgraded by shift right clicking them, which boosts their speed and cuts fuel use. The upgrades stick around even if the furnace is broken and replaced, so bulk smelting is far less of a chore.
Better roads
Placing wool underneath a road or path gives a speed boost to anyone walking on it. Functional roads are now genuinely worth building, and travelling on foot is much more convenient.
Lore chat
A new chat built for roleplayers. Anything you say in lore chat appears above your head as an animated chat bubble, and you can trigger different actions through it too. These are things roleplayers have always improvised on other servers, so we thought it was time they became real features.
Letters
You can craft a letter, write it, sign it and seal it shut, then hand it to a messenger to deliver to whoever you like. The recipient can tell whether it was opened or tampered with along the way.
XP extraction
Right clicking an emerald block extracts your XP straight into bottles. Useful for storing XP you've earned without risking it on death, ready for enchanting, mending, or selling to other players.
Bookshelf browsing
Chiseled bookshelves now show the names of the books inside when you hover over them, so there's no need to pull every book out to find the one you want. A real help for anyone building a library.
Stat scrolls
Craft a stat scroll and apply it to a tool to start tracking its history: kills on a sword, blocks broken with a pickaxe and more. A small touch that gives your gear real history, and real value.
Fish codex
A new menu showing every fish available to catch, from common up to mythical, along with how many of each you've caught over time.
The bigger picture
None of these are game changing on their own, but together we hope they make your time on Pactoria that much better. The small details matter as much as the big ones.
